(FPCS) is a federation of choirs for children and for young people. Its fundamental objective is to bring young choristers who sing for the Christian liturgy together with other choristers, so that they may have new and positive experiences, exchange views and experiences, as well as making friends and meeting other choristers who have similar (or sometimes very different) activities, skills and knowledge. Thus we promote mutual understanding and appreciation amongst young
people. The FSPC is a member of the International Pueri Cantores Federation (FIPC), founded by Mgr. Mallet and the Petits Chanteurs à la Croix de Bois in Versailles (France). The FPCS was founded thanks to the friendship between Mgr. Mallet and the Maîtrise du Colège de St. Michel de Fribourg through their choirmaster, Richard Flechtner, who became the first President of the Swiss PC Federation up to his death on 1st January 1980. His successor was Joseph Baruchet, formerly choirmaster of the Schola der Petits Chanteurs de Notre Dame de Valère in Sion until 1985. For the next 16 years, the president was Willi Oeschger, an ex-chorister of the Singkreis Baden and he was followed in 2001 by Laurent Dietrich, an ex-chorister and former vice-president of the Maîtrise de Fribourg. In 2006 Robert Michaels, choirmaster of the Scuola Corale della Cattedrale di Lugano was elected president and, in 2009, he also became vice-president for Europe of the IFPC.
